Our Dog Care And Training Experience

Our Mission

Helping dogs and owners in our community to better understand each other by training, educating, and equipping both with the necessary skills to form a greater owner/pet relationship. Furthermore, we work directly with rescues to reduce euthanization and increase the likelihood of dogs being placed in stable and loving living conditions.

  Our Philosophy

The most important aspect of training is the philosophy that will be used to achieve the desired outcome. Prime Time Pups understands this and has developed a system that works, and we are excited to share our methods and philosophy in detail below.

Positive Reinforcement

At Prime Time Pups, we use positive reinforcement for all our training. Positive reinforcement is something the dog likes, that when associated with a behavior, causes that behavior to be more likely to occur again in the future. In addition, we use avoidance conditioning: Lots of praise, luring, capturing, and turning your back on the dog. We start by using treats to lure the pups into positive positions and behaviors. Then, we fade out the treats as quickly as possible because we don’t want the pup to become reliant on treats.

Every Life Stage

No matter the age or stage of your furry friend, we can help. You can start with us at any stage, but the earlier the better. Addressing negative behaviors before they become ingrained is essential to the overall health and success of a dog. No matter the service you choose, or the stage you choose, you will have a consistent partnership throughout your dog’s life.

Equipping the owner

This is one of the most overlooked details of dog training. We make sure to equip the owner with all the tools necessary to keep your dog’s skillset high. After our multi-week Board and Train program, we reintroduce the dog back to their family and home. We take our time and go over the new commands and behaviors that have been learned. Also, we help to craft a personalized training plan. We understand not all clients are the same and need personalized attention and care.

Alphamanship

All dogs are den dwelling pack animals. Every pack has a leader, or an Alpha. All dogs need and crave an Alpha. We take this role by setting healthy boundaries, and structures for our dogs. When dealing with aggression, fear, and reactivity, we must be the dog’s Alpha. At our Board and Train program, we know that Alphamanship combined with Basic Obedience training has proven to be successful in promoting healthy behaviors and mitigating negative behaviors.
